60-year-old man dead from suspected carbon monoxide poisoning in Newcastle
One man has died from suspected carbon monoxide poisoning after collapsing at a house in Newcastle, Co Down.
Paramedics tried to save him but he died at the scene.
Three other people who were suffering the effects of toxic poisoning were taken to The Ulster Hospital, Dundonald with two paramedics who also needed emergency care.
All five patients have since been discharged.
A PSNI spokesman said: "Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a 60-year-old man who was found in a house on the Castlewellan Road in Newcastle last night, Friday 29 April.
"A multi-agency investigation is now underway and a post mortem examination will take place to determine the cause of death."

The man was one of four people removed from a house in the seaside town on Friday night. An other man and a women, believed to be in their 50s, also needed emergency treatment.
The first two paramedics who attended the scene were taken ill from the effects of carbon monoxide.
The paramedics had to treat themselves and the three surviving householders with oxygen until four other ambulance crews arrived to transport all five for emergency treatment at the Ulster Hospital, Dundonald.

The crew were attending a house in Newcastle after an emergency call for an ambulance.
Four people, three men and one woman aged in their 50s and 60s, were inside the property and readings taken by the crew showed high levels of carbon monoxide.

The NI Ambulance Service confirmed their colleagues became unwell while attending the scene and reported symptoms of poisoning and called for back up crews to help them.
A post mortem is to be carried out to establish the cause of death and a multi-agency investigation is underway.
